I am giving a talk for the Newfane Garden Club, but it is also open to the public. The talk will take place at my garden. My partner Denny and I specialize in growing heirloom vegetables, produce from other countries, unusual varieties of food, wild edibles, and plants bred by contemporary breeders. This talk will cover all the interesting things that are currently thriving in our garden. The presentation will include free samples of delicious fruits and vegetables. People will be bringing their lunch. If there is heavy rain, the talk will be cancelled.
The Newfane Garden Club has over 50 members, but maybe half of them show up for each talk. Most of the members are women primarily interested in flower gardening. I gave a talk for them for the first time last year. I was a bit nervous about it, because I wasn't sure if they would be interested in the more unusual topics I would be covering. However, my concerns were completely unfounded. They loved my presentation, and so I am excited to be with them again.
